It seems the hottest accused knock-off isn’t a total rip. Or is it? According to readers who obviously can read the Meizu forums, the company CEO (according to those readers) has apparently made a post, in which he defends Meizu.
It appears, at least from what we’ve been sifting through, that details are emerging that Meizu actually unveiled the controversial name changing handset (Meizu M8 / Meizu miniOne), four days before the iPhone announcement at MacWorld.
However, after seeing the candy Apple goodness of the iPhone, Meizu rushed their minions back to the graphics workstations and retooled the then dubbed, Meizu M8, drawing inspiration from the iPhone.
The CEO cries that further proof of Meizu playing fair despite previous behavior, is the seven figures spent on developing a screen with 720×480 resolution.
Now here’s the kicker, the reported Meizu CEO posting on the forums is being quoted as saying if Apple sues Meizu will throw in the towel. With the evidence presented so far, some might argue that Meizu actually has a fighting chance.
