Speculation swirled about for a few hours, but many sites got the scoop that the big latenight unveiling was going to be the Mirosoft Surface. To sum it up without hyperbole, the Microsoft Surface is a 30-inch tabletop with object recognition and a multi-touch, multi-user interface that will allow users to interact, create and consume digital and real-world content. Video Posters of the Future are Here!

Think Minority Report. Think Harry Potter. Think it’s not possible. Think again.

Touted by James Cameron as having found the “Holy Grail of Advertising”. A company in Ottawa, ON by the name of XYZ-RGB has developed video posters that will knock your socks off.

A few years in secret development and over $25 million later the company has crafted video posters that draw power from white light and can display mini movie clips packed with 1280 frames of video.

That 1280 frames translates into roughly 10-12 seconds of film embedded into a sheet thin as paper. According to Cory Tibbits, it all came together when XYZ-RGB acquired XYZ-Imaging back in July of 2006. Continue →
