Fusionsoft shows promise with the 7Star, the company’s recent entry into the PMP/GPS market. Built on established standards like the SiRF Star III chipset and WIndows CE 5.0, the Fusionsoft 7Star is making safebets and making headlines by tossing in a choice of 40 or 80GB hard drives for the device. Other specs on the Korea bound PMP include a 7-inch QVGA display, 128MB SDRAM, 64MB NAND and DivX support right out of the box.

GPS built into Shoes with Quantum Satellite Technology

Great idea, but I really don’t like the implementation. Let’s see, develop a really useful product which could greatly help families and aid in finding people in disaster situations or kidnap victims. Charge a hefty price tag which limits the use.

Aside from the $325-$350 price tag, the idea is great. The shoes have GPS embedded and allow users to press a button in case of emegency to send a distress signal. Continue →

The Pharos GPS Phone

The GPS Phone from Pharos, a rebranded E-Ten Glofish X500 is scheduled to launch in the US next month. Quick specs on the device include quad-band GSM/EDGE, built-in GPS (SirfStar III receiver), Wi-Fi, Fm radio, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera and a MicroSD memory card slot. The Pharos GPS Phone will operate on Windows Mobile 5 Operating System and comes bundled with the Pharos Ostia navigation software. Pharos will distribute the phone direct and unlocked for $699.
